NHACDA
Desires to sponsor two to three major events each year. The collaboration with NHMEA with the October Festival in preparation for the November annual Allstate Auditions has been helpful for high school teachers. The Spring Conference offers the opportunity to host clinics and seminars to appeal to a wider segment of our membership. Two years ago, NHACDA Co-sponsored with Plymouth State University a three day event with Dr. Andre Thomas. This was widely successful and well received. The Board is investigating the possibility of a summer vocal institute, similar to the popular NE Band Directors Institute held annually at PSU.

Repertoire and Standards Committees (R&S)
One unique facet of ACDA are the R&S Committees. Member choral directors in ACDA represent the entire spectrum of choral singing. Years ago, membership was broken into 12 areas of choral singing:
- Youth and Student Activities
- Senior High Choirs
- Jr / Middle School Choirs
- Children’s Choirs
- Women’s Choirs
- Music in Worship
- Male Choirs
- Vocal Jazz
- Two-Year Colleges
- Showchoirs
- College and University
- Community Choirs
- Ethnic and Multi-Cultural
- Boychoirs
The intent of the R&S Committee is that a member becomes a Chair for one of these areas, in their interest area. The R&S Chair has the responsibility to be a resource for their vocal area.
For example, the R&S Chair for Jr/Middle School Choirs would gather repertoire lists of music. Some chairs put together a, "top ten favorite songs list." In this manner, they become a resource for that area of interest. Anyone from NH or across the nation (world!) may contact them for this information.
The R&S Committee system is one of the least understood aspects of ACDA and for soem, the "scariest" yet it is nothing more than a resource person. There is a National R&S Chair for each vocal area and a National R&S Chair.
