Terms of Office for the
Eastern Division &
NHACDA State
Tuesday, February 23, 2010
Dear NHACDA Members –
I am writing to give a follow up on recent elections and information about coming events.
Recently ACDA members have voted for a President-Elect for the Eastern Division and also for NHACDA. Robert Duff, from Dartmouth College, was elected Eastern Division President-Elect. We look forward to having someone from our own "neck of the woods" and know that Bob will bring real leadership to the Division. Congratulations, Bob! Members also have elected Jay Chandler as President-Elect for the 2011-13 term. Congratulations and thanks members for your votes!
Two weeks ago, the Eastern Division Conference was in getting underway in Philadelphia. The snow was interesting to see the city trying to deal with. All the arrangements and events were nothing short of spectacular! The Friday evening concert with Helmut Rilling and the Bach Institute Concert was outstanding. The Honor Choirs concert Saturday afternoon was very well done. Except for the inconvenience that the snow caused, nothing could have made this conference better!
At breakfast with Eastern Division State Presidents and Dr. Tim Sharp, ACDA Executive Committee, discussion centered on some very exciting initiatives. One such innovation is the move to encourage more student chapters. ACDA and NHACDA will offer a reduction of student membership fees from $35 to only $5. The only stipulation is that in order to qualify, student membership forms have to be submitted by NHACDA and will have to be sent to the Chapter.
On Friday, April 9, from 7:45-8:45 there will be a Complimentary All-Member Breakfast at the Grappone Center in Concord. Watch for details!
NHACDA will participate with Assumption College in a Summer Choral Institute. Watch for details!
Sincerely,
Jay Chandler,
President
