Chair - David Almond -

David L. Almond has been Director of Music at First Baptist Church, New London, since 2005. He is also Artistic Director of the Kearsarge Chorale.  David previously served churches in Pennsylvania, Texas and Connecticut. He has been assistant conductor and accompanist of the Manchester (CT) Symphony Chorale, the Victoria (TX) Civic Chorus, and the Victoria Bach Festival Chorus.

 David’s career as a choral conductor spans 50 years. He has extensive experience as a teacher, lecturer, baritone soloist, accompanist, conductor and composer. He is an Associate of the American Guild of Organists and he is Worship Music Committee resource person for the New Hampshire Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.

 David graduated, Master of Music, from the Hartt College of the University of Hartford. He has studied conducting with Sir David Willcocks and Alan J. Harler; composition with Edward Diemente and Alice Parker; and music theory and analysis with Julius Herford and Richard Bass.

 The Kearsarge Chorale was formed in 2009.  It draws singers from throughout the Dartmouth Lake Sunapee area to prepare and perform great choral music from many traditions.  This past season the Chorale performed the Brahms Requiem [November, 2010], and the Saint John Passion of Johann Sebastian Bach [17 April 2011].  The Chorale has a webpage on the Choral Arts Foundation of the Upper Valley website:  http://choralartsuv.org/
